Omec F9 combined milling machine for door frames
The F9 milling machine by Omec was designed to manufacture door frames with one, two or three parallel joints and 45° mitre in one single working cycle with no tool changes, This type of process makes a more accurate, stable and conistent joint than traditional jointing systems using plugs, nails & screws. In addition, this is an extremely practical system for the subsequent assembly & site installation. The outside of the frame shows only an aesthetic mitre joint.
During the processing cycle the workpiece is placed onto the sliding carriage in end of stroke position, clamped by two pressure bars, completely processed, released and repared for further processing. The milling machine is provided with a cutter moving from below for jointing operations and two blades for 45° cutting. The possibility
to mount 10 and 20 mm thick cutters together with standard 30 mm cutters allows to produce small joints as well in order, to process from 60 to 295 mm wide door frames. Tools do not need to be changed from male to female workpieces, the software provides the different working cycles with the same tool group.
The high RPM and the specific milling units allow accurate processing with no defects on all veneered and painted wood species, MDF and multilayer panels coated with square or round frame profile.
This machine is also able to process large sized wall frames; it incorporates a series of sensors and software which avoid machining errors:
therefore it is not possible to program the machine with a wrong number of joints for the workpiece size and tool, and it is not possible either to process right-handed instead of lefthanded
pieces. In both cases, operators are notified by an error message.
The machine incorporates all safety devices, operators never enter the tool area and pressing bars are guarded to prevent hand contacts. The setup is extremely quick, the only manual adjustment is required for workpiece thickness, executed by means of a specific handwheel and a digital readout.
Programming data is entered on the keyboard directly on the machine. The working cycle allows to process 25 complete door frames per hour (variable average according to the number of joints).
