Create machined parts from scratch using AlphaCAM's integrated AlphaCAD system or import native files from systems such as Catia, Unigraphics, Solidworks, and AutoCAD, and apply the necessary machining strategies to the existing geometries.
Post processors often pose their own problems. Many of today's leading systems are easily configured by Licom engineers and will produce edit-free NC code for virtually any CNC control.
Solid simulation of clamps and fixtures with clash detection takes some of the guesswork away and now makes the machinist's life easier by simulating the actual production of the components on the machine tool.

2D Pocketing with Unlimited Numbers of Pockets and Islands
Pockets can be created with either vertical, profiled or sloping sides, eliminating the need for complex 3D modelling software on the shopfloor.
Apply Z level attributes to flat 2D Geometries and use AlphaCAM's powerful new Automatic Multi Level pocketing routine to generate complex toolpaths.

Drilling
Create linear or canned cycle code using auto or semi-automatic hole selection with subroutine options for drilling, pecking, boring and reaming.
Engraving
AlphaCAM's powerful 3D engraving can create intricate designs for the jewellery and printing industries using user defined tools and simple 2D geometries.
Projection of engraved toolpaths onto surface models enables the mouldmaker to generate company logos and component identification on mould surfaces.
Horizontal and Multiple Index Machining
AlphaCAM has the facility to create NC programs for any articulation of axis.
Rotary routering, tombstone machining, and complex 3 plus 2 plane machining are all catered for. Create parts on the fly or insert previously machined parts onto a previously designed tombstone or fixture. Insert additional clamps and fixtures for a realistic simulation of the component in production.

2.5D Machining
Powerful 2.5D machining strategies allow the user to create complex 3D components using 2D geometries with draft angles, radii or any user-defined profile.
The strategy can be applied to any 2D geometry or pocket.
Maximum depth of cut and chord error can also be controlled.

Clamp and Fixture Definition
Clamps and fixtures designed in AlphaCAM can be saved away and then inserted into the main AlphaCAM file where necessary to enable full simulation of the machining operations, detecting collisions when they occur.
This helps the engineer to position clamps and fixtures and takes away some of the guesswork by machine operators, thereby aiding the production process.

Limited Strategy 3D Machining
AlphaCAM Advanced Router allows you to design and create a 3D surface model from scratch or import a 3D model or STL file from another design system.
Advanced Router allows you to Z contour rough and planar machine using ballnose, bull or flat cutters. Machining can be contained using boundaries, and cutting between specified Z levels is also allowed.
If more 3D machining strategies are required, an upgrade to Advanced 3D 3 Axis router provides the solution.
