A heavy duty, easy to use machine for Hollow Chisel and Chain mortising - either single components or complete door frames. The head unit is easily changed between the two mortising operations. The mortise head unit down feed is pneumatically controlled by the operator by activating a push button - allowing gradual and precision approach to the workpiece for lateral alignment. Once aligned the operator simply presses the approach button and the mortise operation is completed to the preselected depth.
The vertical control of the head unit requires no manual effort as with conventional machines - the operator simply sets the downfeed speed by varying the hydrocheck to the pneumatic cylinder. Vertical head stroke for 2 pass operation can be pre-programmed through cams mounted on the head. Chain and chisel head units are enclosed for safe operation and a compressed air gun is supplied for table cleaning.
Workpiece support on left and right hand tables are 1300mm to each side of the head unit. the machine is equipped with pneumatic clamping . When mortising a complete door unit the table swings away and door unit is pneumatically located under two reference stops.
